stay in a charming hotel in
Provence
stay in a venerable hotel from the 18th century
Hidden in the heart of Villecroze, Wangberg Provence is not a hotel in the traditional sense — but a privately bookable 18th-century village house with six bedrooms, a restaurant below, and a lively Provençal square just outside the door.
Here, mornings begin with the sound of coffee cups and village life drifting through open windows, while evenings unfold under the plane trees with local wine and long dinners on the terrace.
Rent the entire house, and it becomes your own boutique hotel. Intimate, authentic, and entirely yours.

HOTEL PROVENCE
Wangberg Provence
Wangberg Provence is designed as a “private hotel experience” rather than a traditional hotel stay.
Guests can either book individual rooms or take over the entire property, creating a fully private setting for friends, family, or curated groups.
The focus is on authenticity, simplicity, and atmosphere — offering a rare opportunity to experience Provence as it once was, in a historic village setting.
This is not a polished Riviera hotel.
It is Provence as it lives and breathes: morning markets, church bells, shaded squares, local wine, and slow evenings.
The terrace opens directly onto the village square, placing guests at the center of everyday life — yet with the privacy of their own house.
Ideal for:
- Couples traveling together
- Wine and food enthusiasts
- Small private groups
- Guests seeking an authentic Provençal experience
What a place! if you want to experience the lovely and authentic Provence – this is where to stay! We were 10 people from 12 to 83 years old renting this old hotel – having ensuite rooms, 6 bathrooms alltogether. On the top floor we enjoyed the charming living and dining rooms where we all could meet for meals and social evenings. Staying here on the town square itself was lovely – with the fantastic Villecroze gardens and caves next door. On top of that we had many great meals in the restaurant on the ground floor. Hosts were great and the stay was fantastic – we will definitely come back!
The dream of a small French village
In the heart of Provence, in the picturesque village of Villecroze, you can holiday and stay in a charming and venerable hotel from the 1800s. On the ground floor of the Norwegian-owned hotel you will find the restaurant “Sous les Platanes”. Owner Martine serves delicious Provencal food in season.
Villecroze is a vibrant village – a good distance away from the tourist flow of the Mediterranean and the Riviera – about an hour and a half drive from Nice.

Experiences in Provence
It is easy to be both charmed and seduced when traveling between vines, olive groves, lavender fields and visiting picturesque villages. The region is like a living museum from the time of the greatness of the Roman Empire, but also the Middle Ages have left their mark through its rich heritage of buildings, castles and churches.
We have covered most of the experiences on our site, but if you want to learn more about Villecroze, you can drop by the tourist information in the village.
